AD LIBITUM - A PASSIONATE TEAM, A CHOIR FOR SPECIAL PURPOSES
The Silesian Chamber Choir “Ad libitum” was established in 1999.
The choristers live in various places, several dozen kilometers away and each rehearsal or concert is an organizational challenge. However, geographical distances and professional differences are not important, because the private passion of making music by each of the singers of “Ad libitum” turns into making music together with passion. The choir consists of people who differ professionally: music therapists, teachers, people of culture, businessmen and students.
The “Ad libitum” ensemble is known for taking up various, interesting musical challenges, e.g. arrangements for a choir of popular music, preparing poetic and musical performances with the participation of the choir, liturgical settings in the Greek Catholic and Gregorian rites, participation in opera performances, cooperation with musical theaters, orchestras philharmonic, well-known stage artists in Poland and abroad: the State Opera in Košice (Slovakia), the Musical Theater in Gliwice, the Philharmonic Orchestra Janacka in Ostrava (Czech Republic), the Zabrze Philharmonic Orchestra, the Rybnik Philharmonic, the Podlasie Philharmonic Orchestra in Białystok and with leading Polish and European artists, both classical, opera and entertainment (e.g. the most famous tenor in the world Andrea Bocelli, Roberto Alagna, Aleksandra Kurzak, Krzesimir) Dębski, Garou, Anna Maria Jopek, Andrzej Lampert, Urszula, Kayah, Beata Kozidrak, Anna Jurksztowicz, Robert Janowski, Tomasz Filipczak, Krzysztof Cugowski, Piotr Cugowski, Anna Dąbrowska, Janusz Radek, Katarzyna Cerekwicka, as well as Artur Żmijewski, Krzysztof Ibisz and folklorist Józef Broda). The band Ad libitum collaborates with the best music agencies.
The ensemble has performed at the NOSPR Concert Hall, the National Forum of Music, the Košice Opera House, as well as at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
The band has performed in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania, Russia, Georgia, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Thailand, South Korea, Spain, Gibraltar and the Philippines.
He participated in dozens of festivals and competitions in Poland and abroad, winning about 40 prestigious awards in international competitions, recorded programs for Polish Radio, TVP and Polsat Television, acts as a choral session group, released 8 CDs.
